Jocelyn has always had a passion and love for hair, creativity and individuality. Starting off by dreading her own hair and wigs, she fell in love with the art and the creative possibilities. 

After a few years learning and doing maintenance for friends, Gothic Hippy Dreads was born! Over the years the business has gradually grown and developed into what it is now. No longer causal lounge room maintenance for friends, but a home studio salon, call out appointments, market stalls, and an online store! 

She discovered the benefits of braids and woollen dreadlock extensions through her own hair  journey, and seeing the benefits for others while working with them to achieve their hair goals. Over the years refining her craft, and falling in love with the art of braiding and creating merino wool extensions.

Working with many different people from many walks of life, she has been amazed by the strength and beauty in her clients, and is constantly inspired by the stories everyone has to offer.  Through her own journey, and through working with others, she has developed a passion for mental health and well being.  She sees the benefits of creating an environment and adapting services to suit the individual needs of each person.

Gothic Hippy Dreads always aim to provide a calm and friendly environment, good quality services and uniquely beautiful products, tailored to each individual person.
